Chef Tony Pope
You are in for a world-class experience when dining with Chef Tony. Originally from West Virginia, he graduated from the prestigious Johnson and Wales Culinary Institute in Charleston, one of the world’s top ranked Culinary and Hospitality Colleges. He has worked with world-renowned chefs such as Michele Richard, Susan Spicer, and other culinary masters. His career highlights include:
- Executive Chef of the Dormie Network, a curated overnight experience in private destination golf
- Chef de cuisine at Hanks Seafood, which has been named the best seafood restaurant in Charleston for 20 consecutive years
- Executive Sous Chef of the award-winning Greenbrier Hotel in West Virginia
- Chef de Cuisine at Bayonne Restaurant in New Orleans
- Executive Chef at the Buckhead Diner in Atlanta
- Executive Chef at Chechessee Creek Club
With 25 years of experience creating menus, buying and running restaurants, designing top-level kitchens, and curating life-changing food experiences for his guests, Chef Tony brings a distinctive flavor to the Brevard food scene.

Partnering with local and regional farmers, growers, and suppliers, he will position Wild Morel as a strong economic component invested in our local community. Chef Tony is also working with local artisans to craft an atmosphere inside the restaurant that will complement his menu and wine offerings. At heart, his vision is to give the people he serves a place to gather and share their lives in community over a bountiful table.
As this transition takes place, you’ll find new menus customized by available and seasonal ingredients weekly. There are some truly mouth-watering examples already: Blackberry Goat Cheese Salad, Pheasant Ravioli, and Roast Duck with Cherries. There will be plenty more options to come and an extensive wine list to pair with his menus.
He also plans to have regular exclusive events, such as seasonal tastings, wine pairings, and special menu evenings featuring wines from some of his favorite wineries served with his complementary creations. In addition, the space includes an intimate event area available for dinner parties, receptions, and other functions, for which you will be able to customize food choices that will complete and make your gathering memorable.
